2009 (P) Lincoln Cent - Formative Years - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-015

Description

2009 FY WDDO-015 is a doubled die obverse on a 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial cent with the Formative Years reverse, cataloged by the Wexler team. Light extra thickness shows on LIBERTY, the lower hair details, the 2 of the date and the beard details, with light notching at the upper left of LIBERTY's letters. On the obverse: a scratch running SSW to NNE right of the Y in LIBERTY; a small gouge touching the upper right of the second zero; and a crack NW from the eyebrow into the forehead. On the reverse: a small gouge (dot) just under the T of UNITED; two small gouges beneath the E of CENT; a short crack heading NE from the O of ONE at its top; a crack down the upper left arm; and a crack across the lower left arm. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
