Documented by VarietyVista with die markers UVC-2781 and DMR-045, this 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cent DDR-042 displays medium spread east as extra log ends to logs #8 and #10 from the bottom — referencing the numbered log identification system used for the Birth and Early Childhood in Kentucky reverse design depicting a log cabin. Four die stages are documented: Stage A in early die state (EDS), unconfirmed; Stage B in early-to-mid die state (EMDS) showing a die crack on the roof above the window and a light die crack on the forehead; Stage C in mid-die-state (MDS), unconfirmed; and Stage D in late die state (LDS), also unconfirmed. The Stage B die cracks on the roof and forehead provide early-progression attribution markers that appear before the more general mid-state and late-state deterioration documented in Stages C and D. The 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cent was struck to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth, featuring four rotating reverse designs representing different periods of Lincoln's life. The Early Childhood reverse was designed by Richard Masters and sculpted by Jim Licaretz.
