2009 (P) Lincoln Cent - Early Childhood - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2009 EC WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on a 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial cent with the Early Childhood reverse, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the single cheek line, slightly rotated, and shows left of the bottom of the nose. Obverse markers: a SSW-to-NNE crack through the back hair, with a die chip close to its upper end; another crack crossing the hair close to the top of the head from SW to NE; a crack heading NW from the eyebrow; and a crack running SE to NW across the front of the forehead. On the reverse, a small gouge (dot) lies left of the U in UNITED. Marilyn Keeney submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDO-001. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
