Cataloged by VarietyVista with die tracking code UVC-2709 and die marker reference DMR-007, this 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cent DDR-005 presents a light spread south creating an extra partial log end adjacent to log #10 from the bottom — a diagnostic feature referenced against the numbered log end identification system developed for the Birth and Early Childhood in Kentucky reverse design, which depicts a log cabin where the young Abraham Lincoln spent his formative years. The southward displacement direction means the secondary hub impression shifted downward relative to the primary, producing the extra partial log end as a ghost image below the original log position. Four documented die stages track the die's service life: Stage A is early die state (EDS), unconfirmed; Stage B reaches early-mid die state (EMDS) with a light die crack developing southeast from the RM (Richard Masters) designer's initials and a die crack appearing on Lincoln's forehead on the obverse; Stage C is mid-die-state (MDS), unconfirmed; Stage D is late die state (LDS), also unconfirmed.
