Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Thin die crack runs through the upper designer’s initials. Small die gouge touches the back of the year. Die gouge below the chin. Multiple die gouges between the R and T in LIBERTY. Die gouge above the B in LIBERTY. Die gouge right of the mintmark P. Small die gouge left of the lower U in UNITED. Obverse Stage B: Die cracks and die chips run down the profile from the lips to the underside of the chin. A die chip can be found at the back of the lips. Several die chips can be found on the left cheek SE of the eye. A die chip can be found on the front point of the bust. Reverse Stage A: Small die chip on the mountain top below the 87 in 1876. Thin NW/SE die scratch through the UR in PLURIBUS. Two E/W die scratches between the bottom of the D and O in COLORADO. Die gouge left of the 1 in 1876. Die gouge left of the P in PLURIBUS. Reverse Stage B: Die gouge run from WNW to ESE through the 2nd O and R in COLORFUL. A large die chip can be found at the top of the 6 in 2006. A die crack curves NE from the top of the 6 to the bottom right L in COLORADO and then curves ENE through the 2nd O in COLORADO. Obverse Stage A:
