Fourth reverse cud for the 2006 Philadelphia Colorado State Quarter, indicating repeated rim failure susceptibility on this design. Norman E. Nemeth's Rocky Mountain landscape with its dramatic relief transitions creates stress concentrations near the die rim where fatigue cracking initiates under sustained production. Philadelphia struck over 274 million Colorado quarters in 2006, subjecting each reverse die to millions of high-pressure impacts. Four reverse cuds from a single state and mint combination makes Colorado one of the most cud-rich State Quarter issues in the program.
