2006 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-007T Trail Die Reverse
Error
Description
Trails on 2006D-1DER-007T point due west, 270°, toward the left edge of the coin. They come from the stylobate's left corners, the lettering of UNITED, MERIC in AMERICA, and the lower corners of ONE. Its file number spells out a 2006 Denver cent with a reverse design extension (DER), file 007, type T. At the middle die state TrailDies describes (stage B), a small dot sits under the B of LIBERTY on the obverse and a crack runs across the top of column 2 on the reverse. Jean Lee is credited with the find. Specialists mostly blame trails on rotary polishing of the die, though a few attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
