2006 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-003

Description

2006-D WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 2006-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the left side of the seventh Memorial column, to the right of both the statue and the top of its pedestal, and the statue has an extra leg between its two legs. On the obverse, a small gouge lies under the base of the 6; parallel scratches head SSE from the base of the 9; and a scratch runs south from the base of the B in LIBERTY. On the reverse, a small gouge (dot) sits in the upper opening of the last S in STATES; a gouge extends from the roof's top edge, under the right dot of EPU (E PLURIBUS UNUM); and a series of tiny gouges (dots) lies left of the O in ONE. Kenneth Russell submitted the variety; the markers and photos were later updated from a coin belonging to Timothy S. McCollum. Crawford lists it as CDDR-001 and CONECA as 2-R-VIII; its Coppercoins number is 2006D-1DR-001.
