2006 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-006T Trail Die Reverse

Description

The trails on 2006D-1DER-006T run at 110°, east-southeast, which is to the right and a little down. They hang from the lower right corner of each motto letter, with faint ones also below the T and A of STATES. TrailDies' code: 2006 Denver; 1, the cent; DER, its reverse design extension tag; file 006; T, trails. An early coin is described, stage A, with a small dot under the A of STATES and a crack high on column 2 on the reverse; the obverse shows nothing. Jean Lee found the die. The usual reading is that trails come from polishing the die with a rotary tool, with die-to-hub movement as a minority explanation.

• Reverse is EDS – a small die dot is seen under the A of STATES. A die crack is seen in the upper part of column 2.
