2006 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-004T Trail Die Reverse
Error
Description
Moderate trails leave the upper right corner of each motto letter on 2006D-1DER-004T, and fainter ones come off the scrollwork in the middle of the cornice. They point at 030°, up and somewhat right, north-northeast. Read in order, the number is 2006, Denver, cent, reverse design extension, file 004, trails. The reverse of the stage B, middle-die-state coin TrailDies lists has a small dot on the left end of the stylobate's second tier, another low in bay 1, and a crack in the lower part of column 12. Jean Lee found the die. Rotary polishing of the die face is the explanation most give for these lines, and a minority attributes them to die movement against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.
- Reverse is MDS – a small die dot is seen on the second tier of the stylobate to the left. A small die dot is seen in the lower portion of bay 1. A die crack is seen in the lower part of column 12.
