Description
2005PR(MM)-25DER-001T is a proof 2005 Minnesota state quarter reverse, filed by TrailDies among its proof coins. The code is the date with PR for proof and the tag (MM), followed by 25 (quarter), DER (reverse design extension) and 001T (first file, trails). Lines rise from the tops of every tree in the lakeside scene and run at about 010°, just east of north. TrailDies has no die markers for it; both the photographs and the details came to it from Ken Potter, and no finder is named. Polishing of the die with a rotary tool is the usual explanation for trails; others attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
