2005 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-010

Description

Oregon's Crater Lake provides the scenic backdrop for WDDR-010 on the 2005-P State Quarter, where hub doubling manifests in multiple directions across the landscape design. An eastward spread appears at the top of the short tree while a northward spread shows on many of the upper and central branches of the tall tree, and additional doubling is visible below the high points of the upper shoreline of Crater Lake — this multi-directional displacement suggests a complex hub misalignment rather than a simple linear shift. Donna Weaver's Crater Lake design, depicting the caldera lake with Wizard Island and surrounding evergreen forests, is among the most topographically detailed State Quarter reverses, and the varying spread directions across different design elements indicate the hub rotated or tilted during the impression process.
