Description

Medium spread on the lower right side of the volcano identifies this eleventh doubled die reverse for the 2005 State Quarter series, carrying die marker codes UVC-1833 and DMR-013. Three die stages are documented: Stage A with both reverse and obverse in early die state, while Stages B and C at mid and late die state remain unconfirmed. The UVC-1833 code (Unique Variety Code) provides a numerical identifier within the VarietyVista catalog system, and DMR-013 (Die Marker Record) cross-indexes the die markers to this specific die pair. The volcano detail on the reverse made an excellent canvas for documenting hub doubling, as the curved topographic lines and irregular rock textures create complex surfaces where offset impressions produce clearly identifiable secondary images. The 2005 State Quarters continued the unprecedented 50 State Quarters Program that issued five new reverse designs annually, each honoring a different state. DDR-011 is distinguished from the similarly described DDR-014 (VDDR-014) by its unique UVC and DMR codes, confirming these are different die pairs that produced similar-appearing doubling in the same area. Cataloged by VarietyVista, this variety adds to the extensive doubled die record for the 2005 quarter issues.
