Description

WDDR-005 on the 2005-D Oregon State Quarter carries cross-references CONECA 8-R-VIII and Wexler Variety ID 2005-D 25¢ SF OR WDDR-005. The doubling is visible on the bottom right end of Wizard Island as depicted in the Crater Lake National Park reverse design — the central geographic feature of the Oregon State Quarter. The CONECA 8-R-VIII class designation provides precise hub-relationship classification. The doubling on Wizard Island's lower right profile is subtle and benefits from a reference image of the undoubled reverse. The 2005-D Oregon State Quarter is a clad copper-nickel issue from the Denver Mint, part of the 50 State Quarters Program. Verification against CONECA 8-R-VIII parameters is recommended for specialist-level attribution. Die Markers: Obverse: A small die gouge (dot) can be found north of the left side of the D mint mark. Reverse: A die gouge can be found touching the top right side of the 2nd zero in 2005. A die gouge can be found inside the upper 5 in 2005. Parallel die scratches run between the bottom of the 2 and the bottom of the 1st zero in 2005. Parallel horizontal die scratches run between the bottom of 2 in 2005 and the tops of the U and R of PLURIBUS. A die scratch connects the lower R and I of PLURIBUS.
