The Oregon quarter depicts Crater Lake National Park — a lake nearly two thousand feet deep filling the caldera of ancient Mount Mazama, with Wizard Island rising from its surface. The detailed topography, with layered crater walls, water textures, and island contours, provided numerous fine-relief elements where hub displacement could leave detectable secondary impressions during die sinking.
