Attributed by the Wexler Team as 2004-P 25-cent FL WDDO-003, this doubled die obverse on the 2004 Florida State Quarter features a misalignment during the die hubbing process that created visible doubling on the obverse design elements shared across all State Quarter issues — John Flanagan's George Washington portrait, the IN GOD WE TRUST motto, LIBERTY, QUARTER DOLLAR, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. No cross-references to CONECA or Cherrypickers have been established. The 2004 State Quarter program was inspiring millions of Americans to examine their pocket change — a phenomenon that increased the detection rate of die varieties across all five state designs released each year. The Florida quarter reverse, designed by T. James Ferrell, depicts a Spanish galleon, a space shuttle, a strip of land, and Sabal palm trees.
