Description

Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Short E/W die scratches through the E in WE. Small die gouge right of the R in TRUST. Die gouge at the rim below the R in DOLLAR. Die gouge below the A in DOLLAR. Die gouges between the E and R in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: A die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the center of the 2nd S in STATES. A die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the center of the R in AMERICA. A die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the center of the R in QUARTER. Reverse Stage A: Die gouge touches the land above the RY in DISCOVERY. Die gouge above the left side of the D in DISCOVERY. Curved die gouge at the inner corner of the 2 in 2004. Die gouge at the lower left serif of the first A in GATEWAY. Die gouges right of the D in FLORIDA. Reverse Stage B: Die pitting can be found inside the lower R in FLORIDA. A die gouge can be found under the leaves on the right side of the 2nd palm tree.
