2001D-1DER-003T Trail Die Reverse

Description

A multi directional trail die that has three set of lines. The first set with an offset direction of 050 degrees can be seen as lines from the tops of the letters in EPU. The second set of trail lines can be seen from the bottom of the letters in UNUM and also the RIC of AMERICA; the offset direction of these lines is 350 degrees.  The third set of trail lines is encountered on the scrolling atop the cornice and on the UNI of UNITED. This is the first die to be found with more than two sets of trail lines in different directions.

Die Markers

• Stage “A”, obverse is VLDS – there is a series of small die gouges in and around the date. Another series of die gouges can be seen in the field below the word IN.
• Reverse is EDS – none noted.
