Description
TrailDies points out that 2001D-1DEO-004T looks very much like 2001D-1DEO-003T: light lines from the upper corners of the IBER in LIBERTY, heading 340°, a little west of north. The code is the 2001 Denver cent (2001D, 1), obverse design extension (DEO), file 004, trails (T). The coin described is early in its middle die state (stage B), with several gouges on Lincoln's shoulder and one between the two zeros of the date; on the reverse a small crack sits above the left-hand planter by the columns. Ryan Magers found it. The die probably took these lines from a rotary buff used in polishing, though some say it moved against the hub.
