Error
Description
1998D-1DER-004T has trails in two opposite directions. One set runs due east at 090°, to the right, from CENT's T, the FG initials, the stylobate, the cornice and roof corners, and AMERICA's C. The other runs due west at 270° from the bottoms of the N and E in ONE and the left tip of the building's base. TrailDies' number runs 1998D (date, Denver), 1 (cent), DER (reverse design extension), 004 (file), T (trails). Its coin pairs a very late obverse, with gouge clusters above LIBERTY and above the date, with a middle-state reverse that has no markers. Jean Lee found the die. Like other trails, these are generally credited to polishing the working die with a rotary tool, though a few observers attribute them to the die moving against the hub.

- Stage “B “, obverse is VLDS – a group of die gouges is seen above LIBERTY. Another smaller group of die gouges is seen above the date.
- Reverse is MDS – none noted
