Description
1996D-25DEO-001T is a 1996 Denver Washington quarter obverse with trails from the bottoms of the 1, 9 and 9 of the date, lightly from the end of Washington's hair, and from the D mint mark. TrailDies heads the entry with 200°, south-southwest, down and slightly left. In the number, 1996D is the date and mint, 25 the quarter, DEO TrailDies' design extension obverse, 001 the file and T the trails. The coin it describes is at middle die state, and TrailDies identified no markers on either side. Louis Schaeffer found it. Trails are usually attributed to polishing of the die with a rotary buff, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
