1995 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-024T Trail Die Reverse

Description

1995P-1DER-024T carries two sets of trail lines that run in opposite directions, one at 090°, due east toward the right of the coin, and the other at 270°, due west toward the left. TrailDies calls it a complicated die. The code spells out 1995 and the P mint, the 1 of a cent, DER for the reverse design extension group, file 024 and the trails letter T. The entry does not list which letters carry each set. On the middle-die-state reverse described, a small die dot sits right of the left urn and another below the right end of the Memorial's base line; nothing is noted on the obverse. Bob Piazza of Florida found the die. Lines of this kind are usually credited to die polishing with a rotary tool, with die-to-hub movement as the less common explanation.
