1995 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-009WS Trail Die Reverse

Description

Only two columns are involved on 1995P-1DER-009WS: the steps below columns 6 and 7 bend lightly where trails cross them, the effect TrailDies calls wavy steps. The lines run at 180°, due south. Taken apart, the number is the 1995 Philadelphia issue, the cent, the reverse design-extension category (DER), file 009 and the wavy-step suffix. The coin TrailDies describes is from a late die state, with three small gouges just right of the N in IN on the obverse and a large scratch in the gap between CENT's N and T on the reverse. The steps' bending is usually traced to polishing of the die with a rotary wheel, and less often to the die moving against the hub.
