1995 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-006WS Trail Die Reverse
Error
Description
1995P-1DER-006WS is a light wavy-step reverse on a 1995 Philadelphia Lincoln cent. Its code combines the date and mint (1995P), the denomination (1, cent), TrailDies' DER tag for a reverse design extension, file number 006, and WS, meaning trails that cross the Memorial's steps and give them a wavy look. Here the bending is slight and limited to the steps below columns 5, 6 and 7, running south at 180°. TrailDies notes no die markers on either side of the middle-die-state coin it describes, so the set of affected columns is the main guide. Wavy steps are normally explained as a result of polishing the die with a rotary tool; a few attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
