1995 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-011T Trail Die Obverse
Error
Description
1995P-1DEO-011T is a 1995 Philadelphia Lincoln cent obverse with trails off the tops of LIBERTY and, only just visible, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. Its number combines date and mint (1995P), denomination (1), side (DEO, obverse design extension), file (011) and type (T). The lines head west-northwest at 300°. TrailDies compares it with its file 1995P-1DEO-006T, which shows the same pattern with heavier lines in the motto. The same coin's reverse die also has trails; TrailDies files it as 1995P-1DER-041T. Aisha Shahid found the pair. Trails like these are usually attributed to polishing of the die; a minority view puts them down to die-to-hub movement.
