1995 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-010T Trail Die Obverse
Error
Description
TrailDies pairs 1995P-1DEO-010T with 1995P-1DEO-003T as a similar die: here the light trails come from the IBERT of LIBERTY and also run west, at 270°, toward the coin's left side. The number reads as 1995 Philadelphia (1995P), cent (1), obverse design extension (DEO), file 010, and T for trails. To tell the two apart, look at the markers on this stage C coin: faint scratches from the base of the E in WE to the TRU of TRUST, light east-west scratches across Lincoln's throat, and on the reverse a north-south crack from the top of the ninth column right through the east side of the steps. Bob Piazza found it. Trails are commonly attributed to rotary polishing of the die, with die movement against the hub as the minority explanation.
