1995P-1DEO-008T Trail Die Obverse

Description

Found by Jeremy Gardner and classified as a major variety due to its widespread trail lines, this Trail Dies-cataloged Philadelphia Mint Lincoln Memorial Cent shows trail lines from the word TRUST, Lincoln's lips, beard, bow tie, all four digits of the date, and the R of LIBERTY at an offset direction of 140 degrees. The southeast offset distributes trail effects across virtually the entire obverse design field. Die markers at Stage B: obverse at LDS with none specifically noted; reverse at LDS with a die crack in the right portion of the Memorial building steps and a die chip on the lower part of column 12. The major designation reflects the comprehensive coverage of trail line effects across the full obverse portrait and inscriptions. Struck in copper-plated zinc at 2.5 grams and 19.05 mm, the 1995-P Memorial Cent was produced at Philadelphia during the series' mature years.
