1995P-1DEO-007T Trail Die Obverse

Description

Found by Bob Piazza of Florida and classified as a major trail die because the trail effects encompass both sides of the die, this Trail Dies-cataloged Philadelphia Mint Lincoln Memorial Cent displays trail lines below the date and LIBERTY at an offset direction of 200 degrees. Die markers at Stage C: obverse at LDS with light die scratches running NE-SW throughout the obverse; reverse at LDS with die damage running southeast from the rim through OF and the last memorial bay, plus die scratches from the memorial base to O of ONE. The comprehensive LDS deterioration on both faces — with directional die scratches across the entire obverse and rim-to-inscription damage on the reverse — documents a die pair in advanced terminal decline. Struck in copper-plated zinc at 2.5 grams and 19.05 mm, the 1995-P was produced during the Memorial reverse's mature production era.
