Error
Description
Light trails leave the BER of LIBERTY on 1995P-1DEO-003T and run west at 270°, toward the left edge of the coin. TrailDies files it as a 1995 cent from Philadelphia (1995P, then 1), with DEO marking an obverse design extension, 003 its file number and T the trails type. The obverse of the stage C coin it describes has no markers, so the reverse does the identifying: a die dent beside the rim above the D of UNITED, a small gouge between the E and S of STATES, and a scratch from the bottom end of the last S in STATES. TrailDies' 1995P-1DEO-010T is a similar die with the same direction. Trails are usually blamed on the die being polished with a rotary tool; some attribute them instead to die movement against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none observed.
- Reverse is LDS – die dent, next to the rim, over the D of UNITED. Small die gouge is seen in between the E and S of STATES. Die scratch from the lower terminus of the last S in STATES.
