1994 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-012T Trail Die Obverse

Description

On 1994P-1DEO-012T, light trails come off LIBERTY heading south-southwest. TrailDies' heading gives the offset as 200°, while its description puts it at 197°; either way the lines point down and slightly to the left. The number reads as a 1994 Philadelphia cent (1994P, 1) with its obverse design extension (DEO) in file 012, and T for trails. George dePozsgay found the die. Its obverse is at an early-middle die state (stage B) with a small gouge east of the E in WE. The reverse is later, with several small gouges around FG and the T of CENT, one in bay 4, and others between the D and S and between the T and A of UNITED STATES. Most writers attribute trails to rotary polishing of the die, and some to movement between die and hub.
