1994 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-011T Trail Die Obverse

Description

1994P-1DEO-011T has trails leaving LIBERTY toward the west-northwest at 275°, with light ones on IN GOD and slight ones on WE. Its number: 1994P for the Philadelphia issue, 1 for cent, DEO for design extension obverse, file 011, T for trails. TrailDies compares it with neighbouring files: LIBERTY looks much like dies 001 and 002, but in direction it is closer to die 006. George Finster found it. The coin is at a middle die state (stage B), with an odd die dent below Lincoln's bust, and the early-middle reverse showed no markers. Trails like these are usually put down to the die being polished with a rotary buff, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
