1994 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-007T Trail Die Obverse
Error
Description
Moderate trails come off some of the upper and lower left corners of the letters in LIBERTY on 1994P-1DEO-007T, heading due west at 270°. This is the obverse of a combination pair: the reverse of the same coin has trails of its own, filed by TrailDies as 1994P-1DER-063T. The obverse number decodes as 1994, Philadelphia, cent (1), design extension obverse (DEO), file 007, trails (T). The middle-die-state (stage B) coin shows heavy die scratching above the date and LIBERTY, and on the other side above ONE and CENT. Louis Schaeffer found it. The standard account puts trails down to a die polished with a rotary tool, though some think the die moved on the hub.
