1994P-1DEO-006T Trail Die Obverse
Error
Description
Found by Jeremy Gardner, 1994P-1DEO-006T is a multi-stage trail die obverse on the 1994 Philadelphia Lincoln cent documented at both Stage B and Stage C, with an offset direction of 280 degrees. Light trail lines with some extra thickness on the letters appear in LIBERTY at both stages, and Stage B also shows trail lines from the words IN GOD. Die markers for Stage B include a small die gouge next to the left side of the L in LIBERTY on a mid-die-state (MDS) obverse, with no significant reverse markers noted. Stage C markers on the late-die-state (LDS) obverse show no significant features, but the reverse carries a small die gouge under the U of UNITED and a die crack between the U and N of UNUM. The progression from Stage B to Stage C documents this die's deterioration over time, with new reverse damage accumulating as the obverse trail characteristics persisted through continued service. Cataloged by Trail Dies.
