Description
TrailDies number 1994P-1DEO-005T belongs to a 1994-P Lincoln cent whose obverse design extension (DEO) is logged as file 005, type T for trails. Short, light lines drop from the base of each digit in the 994 of the date and point southwest at 220°, down and to the left. No obverse markers are listed for the stage B coin, a middle die state, so the reverse does the identifying: a die gouge beside the left edge of the Memorial's base, and a cluster of four die dots around its right corner. Without those, the short trails under the date are easy to confuse with other 1994-P obverses. Polishing the die with a rotary buff is the usual attribution, with die movement against the hub as the alternative some favour.
