1989 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-006T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Light trails on 1989D-1DER-006T come off the E and D of UNITED, the S and the T and E of STATES, and the left part of the motto, all running at 300°, northwest. After the 1989D date and mint, TrailDies' number puts the cent digit and DER, its reverse design extension group, then file 006 and T for trails. Both sides of the coin described are late. A small dot above the mint mark and a gouge under the 8 of the date mark the obverse; the reverse has a small dot at the left edge of the D in UNITED. Rotary polishing of the die is the explanation generally offered for trails, though some offer die-to-hub movement instead.
