D/D Tilted Die Markers: Obverse: Stage A: Two N/S die scratches inside the upper area of the G in GOD. Stage B: Die gouges inside G in GOD faint. Multiple die gouges around all letters in TRUST with particularly strong gouges under R and right and left of first T. Die gouges inside and around ear. Die deterioration above IN GOD WE TRUST. Stage C: Die gouges inside G in GOD no longer visible. Die gouges around TR in TRUST still visible. Die gouges inside and around ear still present. Die gouges under I and left side of B in LIBERTY. Stage D: Die gouges around TR in TRUST very faint. Die gouges inside and around ear still present. Die gouge under B in LIBERTY still faintly present. Die gouge under left side of O in GOD. Die deterioration more prominent. Stage E: Die gouges around TR barely visible. Die gouges inside and around ear still present. Die gouge under B in LIBERTY still faintly present. Marked die deterioration around rim of obverse. Reverse: Stage A: Die gouges to the right of the R in AMERICA. Stage B: Die gouges to the right of the R in AMERICA still visible. Roughly north/south die scratch in lower bay 9. Stage C: Die gouges to the right of the R in AMERICA still visible. Roughly north/south die scratch in lower bay 9 still visible. Stage D: Die gouges to the right of the R in AMERICA faint. Roughly north/south die scratch in lower bay 9 still visible. Die gouges right of first T and A in STATES. Stage E: New Reverse. Die gouges run SSE from U and S in PLURIBUS.
