1985 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-005

Description

Currently awaiting photographic documentation, WRPM-005 on the 1985-D Lincoln Memorial cent is one of a small number of Wexler catalog entries where the attribution has been established but reference images have not yet been secured. Cross-referenced by CONECA as RPM #9 and Coppercoins as 1985D-1MM-009, this variety benefits from multi-source confirmation despite the photographic gap. Collectors who locate specimens matching this attribution have an opportunity to contribute reference photographs — a meaningful addition to the numismatic record. Without published die marker details beyond the cross-references, attribution currently relies on matching the mint mark's repunching characteristics against the CONECA and Coppercoins listings. The "photos needed" status is not uncommon in comprehensive variety catalogs covering thousands of entries; some dies are represented by only a handful of known specimens whose owners have not provided imagery.
