1983 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - -1DEO-011T Trail Die Obverse
Error
Description
TrailDies prints this file as 1983-1DEO-011T, with no mint letter after the date; the page belongs to the Philadelphia 1983 cent. What follows is the usual sequence: a 1 marking the cent, DEO naming the obverse as the side with the design extension, file 011, and T, since the die shows trails. Faint lines sit on the upper left corners of the B, E, T and Y of LIBERTY, and further lines come from the T, R and S of TRUST, all toward 330°, north-northwest. TrailDies notes that the die resembles 1983P-1DEO-001T but has different markers. On this stage B coin there is damage above the top left corner of the T in LIBERTY, and on the reverse a crack leaves the right side of the base line and runs into the rim. Trails are generally put down to polishing of the die with a rotary buff, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
