Description

The 1982-D Lincoln cent RPM-001, which Wexler numbers WRPM-001, is a D/D North repunched mint mark: a secondary D lies north of the primary one. Wexler lists CONECA RPM #1; VarietyVista gives no cross-reference. The Wexler team, which credits Gary Shaffstall with submitting the coin, identifies the obverse as the Large Date copper type. Its obverse marker is a set of die scratches running southwest away from the RTY of LIBERTY. On the reverse, scratches oriented north to south sit inside the C of CENT and beneath it. The Coppercoins number is 1982D-1MM-002. VarietyVista also names Gary Shaffstall as the reporter and also describes the mint mark as D/D North. Under its marker codes UVC-1159 and DMR-005 it lists three stages. In stage B the obverse carries die scratches that VarietyVista places to the northeast and is in a middle die state, while the reverse is in a late die state. Stage A (early die state) and stage C (late die state) are not yet confirmed by VarietyVista.
