1980-D Repunched Mintmark WRPM-006

Description

Obverse: Die Markers: Obverse: Die chip at the lower right inside of the N of IN. A die chip is present left of the bust. Die chips are present under the tie. Die scratches are present on the lower and middle ear. Reverse: A vertical die gouge is present left of the lower N in CENT. Die chips on columns nine, ten, eleven and twelve. Light die crack along the bottom of the memorial base that extends SE to the rim on the right side. A die crack is present along the right eave.

• Discovered by Brian Allen Cross References: None known Comments: The original WRPM-006 was found to be a duplicate of WRPM-008. Due to the large number of dies that were delisted for the year, both WRPM-006 and WRPM-008 have been relisted as WRPM-001. This below die is a replacement for the WRPM-006 listing, and was formerly listed as WRPM-010. Additionally, this die is essentially identical to that of the WRPM-004 replacement die in position and seemingly character of doubling. Possible markers overlap between these two dies, though an intervening die
