Description
D/D Tilted (Rotated) Die Markers: Obverse: Obverse: Stage A: Die scratches run from I in IN through lower N in IN, from upper G to under O in GOD, between lower W and E in WE, left of first T in TRUST, and from middle of S in TRUST to below second T in TRUST. Strong die scratch runs directly north from Lincoln’s nose. Die gouge right of lower D in GOD. Die gouge on jacket fold. Stage B: Stage A markers visible but markedly weak. Diagonal die scratch runs from the upper right edge of the I of IN ending between the legs of N of IN. Die scratch runs NE from under the bowtie. Reverse: Stage A: Die gouge right of E in STATES. Die gouge under N in UNITED. A pair of tiny die gouges show between the C and A in AMERICA. A small die dot shows just above the tip of the left Memorial base. Die crack on right side of column 12 running north. Stage B: Die gouge right of E in STATES barely visible. Die gouge under N in UNITED visible. Die cracks show on columns 9, 10, 11, and 12. Light die crack runs along the bottom of the Memorial base that extends SSE to the rim on the right side. Obverse: Stage A:
