1977 (S) Proof Eisenhower Dollar - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-010

Description

1977-S WDDO-010 is a doubled die obverse on the 1977-S proof Eisenhower dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. Class II doubling toward the rim is clearest on the lower serifs of IN, and the west edges of GO in GOD are doubled. The doubling is easiest to see toward the rim on TRU of TRUST, on the T's horizontal bar and the left sides of the uprights of RUS. The horizontal bars of the 77 show minimal separation, but a noticeable line marks the outer lower loop of the 9. The obverse has a Type 1 S mint mark with a heavy clockwise (CW) tilt. The reverse is WDDR-001, with Class II doubling toward the rim, and a faint scratch lies in the field between the D and O of DOLLAR, halfway up the D.
