Description
1977-S WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse on the 1977-S proof Eisenhower dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. IN GOD WE TRUST, the date and LIBER of LIBERTY show close Class II doubling. On the obverse, a small, nearly horizontal crack sits at the middle of the ear's back edge. A faint but distinct scratch runs NE through the eyebrow from the upper right of the eye, and another scratch runs SSE through the lower left leg of LIBERTY's R reaching the edge of the hair's top. Wexler notes no reverse markers. Tim Wissert submitted the variety, with photos by Billy G. Crawford. Wexler lists no cross-references.
