Description
1977-S WDDO-009 is a doubled die obverse on the 1977-S proof Eisenhower dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. Moderate Class II doubling toward the rim is clearest on the lower parts of IN GOD WE TRUST. The serif of the 1 and the loop of the 9 are slightly doubled, and the horizontal bars of the 77 show stronger doubling. The obverse has a closed S mint mark with a slight clockwise (CW) tilt. The reverse shows master die doubling (MDDR). Tim Wissert submitted the variety, with photos by Brian Allen. Wexler lists no cross-references.
