1973 (S) Proof Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-001

Description

1973-S WRPM-001 is a repunched mint mark on the 1973-S proof Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. The S mint mark was punched twice, with the secondary S lying to the west (S/S West). On the obverse, the ear has an east-west die scratch inside it. Midway from the ear to the neck's edge there is a large, weak die gouge, and a further gouge lies left of the B in LIBERTY. Under the reverse, Wexler lists a gouge beneath the second T in TRUST and another between the P and L of PLURIBUS. Eric Axtell submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
