Description

A nice Class I CCW spread shows on the letters of LIBERTY, IGWT, and the date. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A long die scratch runs from SW to NE below the R in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: A die scratch runs ENE from the top of the L in LIBERTY. Parallel die scratches run from SW to NE in the field to the right of Lincoln’s eye. Die scratches run from WSW to ENE above the Y in LIBERTY. Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the obverse. Obverse Stage C: Most Stage B die scratches are very weak or gone. A strong die scratch running WSW to ENE can still be seen above the Y in LIBERTY. A vertical die clash mark can be found above the left side of the 7. A die crack runs NNE from the top of the ear to the top of the head below the W in WE. Reverse Stage A: A die scratch runs SW from the lower right N of ONE. Reverse Stage B: Two parallel die scratches run NNW from the top of the 2nd U in PLURIBUS. V-Shaped die scratches can be found to the right of the 2nd S in STATES. Parallel die scratches run from SW to NE through the lower NI in UNITED. Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the obverse. Reverse Stage C: The Stage B die scratches are weak or gone. Die cracks run down the first two columns and the last two columns.
