Description
The 1971 Lincoln Memorial Cent is a cent produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.9 billion examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 78% of production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. The 1971 Doubled Die Obverse is a significant variety. San Francisco produced both proofs and business strikes this year. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792.
