Description
1970-S WDDO-022 is a doubled die obverse on the 1970-S Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Its doubling appears above the crossbar of LIBERTY's L. Obverse Stage A has a small gouge beneath the left part of LIBERTY's R and another small gouge above the date's 7. Obverse Stage B has die clash traces to the left of the neck's back. Reverse Stage A has a strong SSW/NNE scratch beside the left roof on its left, a clash mark running south from the Memorial's bottom below the left post, and many more scratches across the reverse. Reverse Stage B adds east-west scratches left of the left roof. The variety was submitted by John A. Wexler. Wexler lists no cross-references.
