Description
1970-S WDDO-014 is a doubled die obverse on the 1970-S Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling shows over the 7's crossbar and under the crossbar of LIBERTY's L. At obverse Stage A, several scratches run NE off the bowtie, and many other scratches, mostly SW/NE, are spread across the obverse. At obverse Stage B, the Stage A scratches are very faint or gone, and a small gouge (dot) sits between the tops of the L and I in LIBERTY. On the reverse at Stage A, the second A in AMERICA has a small gouge at its top. Reverse Stage B matches Stage A. Frank Baumann submitted Stage A, and Brian Allen submitted Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
