Description
1970-S WDDO-008 is a doubled die obverse on the 1970-S Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling appears over the crossbar of the 7 in the date. On the obverse, scratches run north off the tops of LIBERTY's R, T and Y, and a scratch heads NNE from the bridge of the nose. On the reverse, there is pitting right of the base of the I in UNITED, and parallel SW-to-NE scratches lie between the D in UNITED and the first S in STATES. North-south scratches run in the tenth bay and along the left part of the right Memorial base, with more scratches elsewhere on the reverse. Frank Baumann submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
